A women-owned business accelerator is expanding in Covington
Aviatra Accelerators, an entrepreneurial nonprofit that supports women-owned startups and small businesses, has launched a new incubator program in Covington.
Since 2016, Aviatra has been located at 114 W. Pike St., but its new accelerator will expand into 112 W. Pike St. Entrepreneurs that visit Aviatra will be provided with resources, mentorship and community, all things needed to launch their businesses.
The Aviatra Incubator will also offer co-working space for women business owners; rentable pop-up retail space for women entrepreneurs to showcase their products; event space for any company or individual holding meetings, classes, retreats or other professional gatherings; membership in Aviatra’s paid community; and below-market-rate dedicated office space for six women-owned businesses, according to a press release.
The available offices have six-month leases and include 24/7 access; lockable one or two-person workspace; access to all available common areas; membership in Aviatra’s paid community and two 1:1 coaching sessions to create a customized Path to Profitability Action Plan; free coffee and tea; free wi-fi; a community of friendly, supportive women; and access to downtown Covington’s walkable neighborhood.
The offices vary in size, including an 8.5’ x 10’ space for $300/month, a 9’ x 11’ space for $500/month and an 11’ x 11’ space for $650/month.
“Our goal is to foster an ecosystem of mutual support and level the playing field for women-owned businesses,” Jill Morenz, Aviatra CEO, said in the press release. “Many early-stage female entrepreneurs don’t have easy access to the resources they need to start and accelerate their businesses, such as affordable office space, funding opportunities and experienced mentors. The incubator aims to reduce those barriers and address some of the specific challenges women face in entrepreneurship.”
