Behringer-Crawford Museum’s annual holiday exhibit returns for another year
Just in time for the holidays, the Behringer-Crawford Museum presents its annual holiday exhibit that the whole family can enjoy. With new interactive pieces, new exhibits and new trains, Holiday Traditions@BCM is the place where exhibits come to life and the season is bright.
Through Jan. 9, the Behringer-Crawford Museum welcomes guests to celebrate the history in Northern Kentucky as well as the holiday season during the 30th anniversary of Holiday Traditions@BCM. Returning is a holiday favorite—the train exhibit. Mary Jane Calderon, communications coordinator for the museum, says, “It will include eight O-Gauge Lionel model trains that will circle 250 feet of track. The trains will pass miniature cities, snow-covered fields, farms and there are so much more to see.”
Guests will get the chance to act as conductors and operate many unique and new displays including the LEGO display exhibit. The OKILUG Group (Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana LEGO User’s Group) created pieces in the exhibit like a LEGO batman car, a giant baby Yoda and a giant aquarium with LEGO fish. The OKILUG Group also created a LEGO train set that will ride through a holiday city and features Elsa’s castle from the movie Frozen.
Calderon says, “It is truly amazing to see these creative displays and the variety of different pieces. Also, to recognize all the work that these individuals have put in to make such imaginative segments.”
The LEGO exhibit will also include a LEGO maker’s space so kids can make their LEGO creations.
Calderon encourages everyone to come to the exhibits and make it a holiday tradition that will lead to making memories families can keep forever. “This is the place to spread the holiday spirit and a place for families to bring their kids and make new memories. There are so many things that the kids will enjoy as well as adults because there’s always something new each year,” Calderon says.
“My favorite thing about Holiday Traditions is getting to see the kids and the wonder in their eyes,” she adds.
