Ring in the new year by celebrating the region

A new year means a time for starting over; people make resolutions to try and adapt and change in their lives. Some people want to work out more—others want to travel. Whatever your New Year’s Resolution is (or isn’t), here are three Northern Kentucky-inspired resolutions to start your year off right.

Walk on the Roebling Bridge

This iconic and beloved bridge is often associated with Cincinnati, but the Commonwealth of Kentucky actually owns it which makes this bridge a Bluegrass staple. If you’ve never walked, driven, or admired the John A. Roebling Bridge, you’re missing out on some seriously beautiful views of both Cincinnati and Covington. Make it your goal to head over to the bridge at least once this year and soak in this historic glory.

Eat at Pepper Pod Restaurant

Pepper Pod is a scrumptious diner stuck in time—in all the best ways. This restaurant has been serving up delicious meals for Northern Kentuckians and Cincinnatians since the first opening of a Pepper Pod location in 1956. Over the years, the Newport location has become a fan-favorite among locals for its nostalgic design, excellent menu, and family-like staff. This diner sells American classics, so arrive with an empty stomach and chow down.

Drink at New Riff Distilling

Nothing screams Kentucky quite like bourbon and New Riff Distilling has some of the best bourbon around. Although this distillery is relatively new—compared to others in Northern Kentucky—they have ambitious, classic, and unique drinks that will make you wonder why you’ve put them off all these years. Take day to visit their facility and treat yourself. New year; new you.
