Larry Krauter has been appointed as incoming CEO, replacing Candace McGraw
The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) has named Larry Krauter as its incoming CEO. He will be replacing Candace McGraw, who is retiring after 15 years with the airport.
Krauter comes to CVG from Spokane International Airport, where he served as CEO since 2011. He is also a graduate of The Ohio State University and is an Accredited Airport Executive and member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. Krauter will start at CVG effective March 3, 2025, and McGraw will remain with the airport to ensure an efficient transition until June 30, according to a media release from CVG.
“I am humbled and excited to join the CVG team and look forward to working with the Board, staff and community to continue to build on the outstanding progress that CVG has made as a regional economic engine and as an organization known for innovation and customer service,” Krauter said in the media release. “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with a fellow industry leader in CVG CEO Candace McGraw to achieve a seamless transition.”
“The board’s objective in our search was to find a seasoned aviation professional with airport leadership experience,” Lisa Sauer, board chair, said in the release. “We found that in Larry Krauter. Candace McGraw has led this organization to new heights, and the transition to Larry will ensure that we continue to meet our mission to elevate and redefine the role of our airport.”
During McGraw’s time at CVG, she led the team who navigated COVID-19, consolidated operations into a renovated and expanded terminal, introduced low-cost air carriers to the airport and expanded the airport’s international passenger air service, among other accomplishments.
CVG is currently the 6th largest cargo airport in North America and is home to the Amazon Air Hub, its largest operation in the world. DHL Express’ Global Super Hub for the Americas is also at CVG, its second largest operation in the world.
