Start the celebration early with these Christmas events in NKY this weekend
Now that Thanksgiving is officially over, you can start celebrating Christmas with no guilt, though some start decorating for Christmas way earlier than Thanksgiving. The first official weekend of December calls for some sort of celebration, and these events can help you get into the spirit.
Cincinnati Zoo’s PNC Festival of Lights
Though it’s across the river, the Cincinnati Zoo’s PNC Festival of Lights is a can’t-miss event. Every year, The Zoo transforms into a winter wonderland, featuring 5 million lights, animated displays and holiday-themed activities. Visitors can delight in finding the five Fiona fairies that are hidden in Fairyland, enjoy live entertainment, a visit with Santa, and/or special holiday food and beverages.
Runs nightly through Jan. 5. Ticket prices vary. You can find more information on the Zoo’s website.

Fort Wright is celebrating Christmas with 18th century holiday traditions this weekend. The downtown area will have reenactors, period music, festive foods and handcrafted gifts, offering a look at how Christmas was celebrated in the past. Visitors can learn about pioneer foods, make crafts, visit the fort display cabins and visit with Santa.
Saturday, Dec. 7. Admission is $8 for adults; $5 for children (6-12); free for children 5 years and under. You can learn more online.
