Enhanced accessibly is offered for Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing Guests 

Deaf Days is returning to the Creation Musuem and Ark Encounter on April 30 and May 1, respectively. This two-day event offers Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (HOH) guests the ability to interact and experience the museums through American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters and other accessibility features.  

“Each year Answers in Genesis is excited to offer Deaf Days, a two-day experience at our world-renowned attractions, the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum,” Answers in Genesis’ Publicist Melany Ethridge said. “We’ll feature Deaf speakers and showcase organizations, as well as offer ASL interpreters throughout the AiG attractions. This weekend event not only provides access to the attractions, but also initiates fellowship for hundreds of Deaf each year.” 

At the Creation Musuem, guests can enjoy everything the museum has to offer—including a walk-through biblical history, 4D Special Effects Theater, Stargazer Planetarium, Botanical Gardens, and the Eden Animal Experience.  

At the Ark Encounter, guests can enjoy three decks of the life-size Noah’s Ark replica, the Ararat Ridge Zoo, and the playground for children.  

On May 1 at the Ark Encounter, a Deaf-led worship service will be available inside the Answers Center. The day will also feature a drama experience with Deaf Missions Bible Drama and Colin Analco. 

Ethridge said that access for those who are Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing is important because “people are important.”  

“It matters to us that our Deaf and HOH guests can receive the same information that our hearing guests do,” Ethridge said.  

Ethridge said many Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing guests who attend these events return the following year because they enjoy them so much.  

“Providing these unique events is a joy for us, and we do foresee them continuing. Other places should consider holding them as well,” Ethridge said.
