These parks are the best for your kiddos
Summer is here which means school is out too. Let your kids play the day away at the best playgrounds Northern Kentucky has to offer.
Stringtown Park – Florence
Stringtown Park has 8 acres of land to enjoy. The park was named in a city-wide contest and the playground has a Camelot theme so your kids can act out all their royal adventures.
Stringtown features a playground with climbing stations, swing sets and play structures. The ground in the play area is rubbery, so you don’t have to worry if your kid takes a fall. In addition to the play area, there’s a basketball court, fitness stations, walking trails, sand volleyball court, shelters, restrooms and more.

General Ormsby Mitchel Park – Fort Mitchell
Rock climbing. Trains. Slides galore. This park will impress even the most critical park connoisseur. The train-themed park will keep your kid chugging along all day.
General Ormsby also offers a picnic area, baseball field, soccer field, basketball court, tennis courts and a sand volleyball court.

Tower Park – Fort Thomas
If playing at an old Army Post sounds fun, Tower Park has got you covered. The land, and many of the houses surrounding the park, were used as an Army Post during the Spanish-American War. Nowadays, the park is home to trails, a playground, an amphitheater and more.
Tower Park’s playground puts the “Fort” in Fort Thomas. Your kids will have plenty of climbing an exploring to do in and over wooden-covered shelters all throughout the park. Don’t worry—it’s not all wood. There’s plenty of slides and swings covered in splinter-free plastic.
Tower Park also has picnic areas, tennis courts, a baseball field, volleyball court and restrooms.

England/Idlewild Park – Burlington
There’s plenty of fun to be had at England/Idlewild Park. Swings, slides, playhouses and plenty of structures to climb through—this park will cover all your kid’s needs.
England Park also has shelters to reserve, disc golf, baseball fields, basketball courts, a dog park, mountain bike trails, hiking trails, soccer fields and picnic tables.

Devou Park – Covington
The best view of Cincinnati’s skyline also happens to be where your kids can embrace and explore nature. Devou Park is home to NaturePlay at the Behringer-Crawford Museum. The goal of NaturePlay is to inspire kids to learn about nature through education about the region’s natural history. Kids can explore a flatboat, travel through caves, hunt for fossils and more.
Devou Park also has eight miles of backcountry hiking trails, golf, fishing, picnic areas and more.
