Visit these local Northern Kentucky spots for Opening Day celebrations and deals
On Opening Day, a couple of Northern Kentucky’s favorites are hosting events in celebration of the start of a new season for the Cincinnati Reds. They will play the Boston Red Sox at 4:10 p.m. in Great American Ballpark.
Newport on the Levee
The levee is having an Opening Day event that includes a live DJ, deals on food and drinks, a special guest for the first pitch and the game on the big screens in The Gallery and The Plaza. Starting at 2 p.m., the food and drink specials will begin and stay all afternoon.
At Beeline, customers can receive 50% off their tab when they show their Reds Opening Day tickets, along with DJ entertainment from 6 p.m. to close. Brothers Bar & Grill will have a $7.50 mixed drink called De La Cruz, $5 Red Legs Shot, $25 Nutrl Buckets, $4 Short Red Budweiser and $2 Jell-O shots.
Visit Par 3 for $4 Diamond shots and for a free upgrade to unlimited putt putt when customers show Reds tickets. Velocity Esports is offering $5 Velocity shots, $20 domestic Game Day pitchers and $8 NA Cherry Limeade. Sweet Dream Candy Co. has Home Run Cotton Candy Mix and ballpark candy options as well.
Covington Yard
Across the way, Covington Yard is celebrating Opening Day all day long. They will have various drink specials, brand new food options to try and display the game on all their televisions. Also, Covington Yard is a dog-friendly venue that features outdoor spaces to enjoy the weather.
Braxton Brewing Company
They are the first-ever Local Official Craft Beer Partner of the Cincinnati Reds. Braxton Brewing Company is hosting an Opening Day watch party in their Covington taproom that will have Reds-themed cocktails and ballpark snacks. It will also feature their new Ballpark Beer and the first 100 guests get a limited-edition Braxton Brewing Company and Cincinnati Reds pin.
Smoke Justis
The Opening Day celebration is starting early for Smoke Justis opening and pouring at 6 a.m.. They will have the Bob & Tom Show broadcasts live from the restaurant, a couple of live DJs set up in the street, ESPN 1530 Radio Broadcast live with Tony Pike, Austin Elmore and Mo Egger and music from The Derek Alan Band and Marty Connor.
There are Opening Day celebrations all around the area for people to enjoy live music and delicious foods and drinks before heading to the Great American Ballpark and events screening the game for those who are not attending.
